Part 1: Family, Faith, and Hunting Traditions Series

The Managed Wild Blog: Family, Faith, and Hunting Traditions Series
Emphasizing the intersection of wildlife management, ethics, and authentic hunting experiences, this image highlights a family-oriented approach to hunting under the banner of "The Managed Wild."

Raising the Next Generation of Ethical Hunters

We don’t just raise game animals at Bretting Texan Ranch—we raise future stewards of the land.

Teaching kids to hunt isn’t about putting meat in the freezer. It’s about discipline, respect, and understanding their place in God’s creation. That first youth hunt is a rite of passage, not a shortcut. We make sure they know what it means to earn it.

They learn:

- How to wait, not just pull a trigger.

- How to identify mature animals, not just shoot what’s big.

- How to give thanks for the life taken.

- How to follow blood trails, gut a deer, and process the meat, not just pose for pictures.

The future of hunting depends on young people who respect the process and the purpose. At B-Tex, we’re proud to be part of that legacy.
