Game Cameras and God’s Creation: How We Monitor Our Herds

The Managed Wild Blog - Game Cameras and God’s Creation: How We Monitor Our Herds
"The Managed Wild: Connecting Ethics and Wildlife Management in Herd Monitoring"

Wildlife & Ranch Management

You can’t manage what you don’t monitor. That’s why our ranch runs on surveillance and stewardship.

We use trail cams, feed station monitoring, and seasonal surveys to keep tabs on:

- Herd health and body condition

- Buck development by age class

- Fawn recruitment rates

- Exotic species rotation

Technology doesn’t replace woodsmanship—it enhances it. Every image we review is a chance to learn, adjust, and make better decisions for our wildlife.

And let’s be honest—there’s nothing quite like checking a camera and seeing a giant 10-point you’ve never laid eyes on before. It’s proof that good management works, and that God’s design is alive and thriving beyond the fence.
