High Fencing and the Role It Serves
There’s a reason why “The Managed Wild” became the name of this blog—because most people only see the wire.
Our high fence isn’t there to trap animals into in tiny space and harvest what people call "pets"—it’s there to preserve habitat, control population, and protect the integrity of our herd. Without it, everything we’ve built could vanish in a single season to disease, poaching, overhunting, or unmanaged predators.
That fence lets us:
- Monitor genetics and avoid inbreeding
- Keep a balanced buck-to-doe ratio
- Prevent illegal access and protect guests
- Raise exotic species that would never survive on open-range land
It's not a cage. It’s a conservation boundary. And what’s inside that line? A thriving, wild ecosystem managed with pride, tradition, and a long-term vision.
